JOLIBE Spring 2009 The Spring 2009 collection found its inspiration after a piece of brown paper set the foundation for a video created for SHOWstudio's FutureTense project. In this collection JOLIBE was also honored to collaborate with Afghan Hands, a charity founded by Matin Maulawizada to train and educate women in Afghanistan. The beautiful embroidered handwork of these women supports their education. JOLIBE Spring 2009 was presented on September 7, 2008 at Hosfelt Gallery, NYC. See the collection here. London Fashion Week Turquoise Mountain Foundation along with Monsoon clothing line presented Afghan Hands embroidery. London Fashion Week was about social consciousness. Our motives were used on the cover of their catalog and they displayed and sold our shawls.
